I was first introduced to clay at the age of six on the banks of a small loon-echoing lake in coastal Maine. I formed little figures and left them to dry on the dock. There was a long parting until we reconnected in the winter of 2013 when my friend signed me up for a clay class for Christmas at the Clay Studio in Philadelphia. I was entranced. I quickly realized that Clay creates a stillness and grounded focus within me that is incomparable.

From there I took a few more classes at the clay studio and then moved down to Asheville, NC to join the Village Potters for a 2 year Self Study Mentorship Program. I graduated in November of 2017 and now create in one of their amazing incubator spaces.

Nature is my core inspiration, predominantly plants, the ocean, and lichen textures.
