Lauren Smucker has been part of Woodlands Gallery since 2016. She is a Pennsylvania native who moved south after living and working in her favorite state of Vermont. Lauren led trail building crews for Americorps and built an ice castle during the winter months. She has a BFA from Kutztown University with a focus in sculpture and printmaking. She enjoys identifying native flora and fauna, hiking mountains, and assembling sculptures using found objects from the natural world. Lauren has backpacked over 2,500 miles including the Appalachian Trail, Vermont’s Long Trail, and the nearby Art Loeb Trail. You can usually find her at Woodlands Gallery or somewhere in the forest.
